Have you ever had an idea in your head so long that you knew if you didn’t get it done you were going to pop? Well, this idea has been in my head since last 4th of July (2011) when I made stars from aluminum cans to decorate my porch for the 4th of July. I was so excited to make it and my idea that was in my head come to life after being stored for a year!! Here is what I did last year…
This year I stepped it up a notch and made a whole entire wreath., but rather then using stars (I was worried they might stab someone with the pointed ends) I made flowers from aluminum cans!
Here is my newest wreath from aluminum cans!! I adore this wreath and really like the fact it is made from recycled items in my home!!
What do you think? All patriotic and festive, right?? It was so easy and despite the fact I did have to go out of my way to buy a 6 pack of Pepsi (we are Coca-Cola drinkers in this house) it was cheap!
I used an old wreath from Easter, empty and clean aluminum cans I was going to recycle, box cutter, kitchen sheers, hot glue gun, and a bow if you like. I really doesn’t take a genius to figure this out, just patience.
WARNING: WEAR GLOVES!!! (I may or may not of worn gloves and I may or may not of cut myself 2 times)
Here is a close up!! I absolutely love making something beautiful from nothing.
If I am really honest with myself, and I know people are going to think I am petty, but what really excites me about this project is as far as I know it is 100% my idea. I have not seen this on Pintrest, or another blog. That kinda feels good this day and age!!
I am sharing this at these parties and posting this on Pintrest -so then people can see my original idea
, haha!!!

I don't think you are petty at all and I think it is adorable and extremely creative.
This turned out great--how brilliant you are. I hope you will link up to my Patriotic Project Parade!

LOVE!!!!!! Featuring it on TP tomorrow!
Your wreath is lovely; soda can wreaths and other soda can crafts were all the rage in the 1970s. People did all kinds of crafty/artsy things with them, and there were even BOOKS devoted to the technique. I remember making loads of different flowers in different styles, some left as-is and some painted. Maybe the first Earth Day inspired it. :)
These are seriously sooo stinkin cute! I love how pretty you made the cans look.. just perfect for
4th of July! Thanks so much for sharing with the Pink Hippo Party.. so glad you came back to visit me!
xoxo
