4th of July Ruffles for Baby

Last week I shared with you 2 Temporary 4th of July Outfits for my oldest kids with zero dollars.  Today I am going to show you the outfit I made for my 5 month old.  It is not temporary but it did cost me zero dollars because I used stuff I had around the house (See being a packrat pays off!!)

Do you see my sweet baby’s ruffles on the rear end???  Here is a closer look…

Cailyn 4th of July -2

So darn cute!!  This material was seriously scraps.  Non-measurable pieces of material that I had kept for a “just-in-case” project.  I never had a clue this is what they would become.  Each piece is 22”X2” Gathered and sewn on.

Of course, you can’t forget the front…

Mommy and Cailyn

This is the only picture I have of her with the front.  We were relaxing on the couch before the festivities.  See my little drool machine??? Here is how I did this so she could drool all over it…

Hole Punched Star

I copied a picture of star onto a piece of paper and then behind it put a piece of freezer paper.  I took a single hole puncher and punched holes in every corner and in the middle of each corner (blue dots show example).  Then some holes will not punch out all the way trim.  Iron on your freezer paper and cover holes with fabric paint.  Once you completely remove freezer paper and you have a professional looking star!

I hope you all have a fabulous 4th of July!! We sure did and all the kids looked SO CUTE and FESTIVE for zero dollars!!!!
