To continue the enthusiasm from Saturday night I decided to make my son this shirt...
It didn't start off this way. I decided to recycle and upcycle one of his existing red shirts.
This outfit I made him back in March. I like it I don't love it. So I snagged the shirt for a new look and threw away the shorts.
The dilemma was all the stitching. There was no way I was going to remove all that stitching so I just cut out the inside...

Then I made the applique bigger so it would cover the existing stitches. Simple and didn't cost me a dime....
This techique makes you start looking at old shirts in a whole new way!
GO NC STATE!!

I love it when people refashion something they already made or refashioned. I find myself doing it more and more - I think it is one of the keys to true thrift.
Go PACK! Cute shirt.
